The New Turing Omnibus by A. K. Dewdney

No list discussing computer science resources would be complete without this book. Containing a tome of knowledge across a wide variety of topics in computer science, it is an essential starting point for a bunch of different areas. When you want to get started learning an area covered by The New Turing Omnibus, it is often best to start here. My personal opinion about this book is that you should choose the chapters (or topics) you are most interested in and focus on those, using the topics discussed as a starting point to learn more.
