JCR

JCR and the Homerton Union of Students

The JCR (Junior Common Room) refers to both the physical common room, found in the Cavendish building, next to the Buttery and the community of undergraduate students at Homerton.

As part of the JCR, all undergraduate students are entitled to engage with events and services in college as well as across the university run by the Cambridge SU. JCR members are also enrolled in the National Union of Students (NUS) who campaign on behalf of students across the UK.

Some 600 undergraduate students are represented to the wider college and university community by the JCR committee - known as the Homerton Union of Students (HUS). Both the JCR and MCR Presidents represent students on the College Council. Executive HUS members also represent the JCR on various College committees and liaise with both the Cambridge Student Union (SU) and the National Union of Students (NUS).

The Homerton Union of Students (HUS)

The Homerton Union of Students (HUS) represent and support both undergraduate and PGCE students, providing a number of services including storage and a ‘stash’ shop.

Students are welcome to come along to the HUS office for advice, support or just a chat at any time during opening hours. You can find us in the Cavendish building.

Find out more about the HUS committee and what they are up to on their website.
