Dr Gavin Davies
Director of Studies for Engineering (Year 3)
Dr Gavin Davies is Course Director for the part time Construction Engineering Masters and the Director of Studies at Homerton for Year 3 Engineering students.
Having completed his undergraduate studies and PhD at Cambridge, Gavin spent over 25 years working the construction industry, both as a consultant at Arup and AECOM and as a contractor at Laing O’Rourke. Gavin returned to Cambridge and his current role in January 2022.
Gavin is a Chartered Engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineering. He is passionate about educating the next generation of engineers and about promoting diversity and inclusion in the construction industry.
Outside work, Gavin is co-chair of Governors for a federation of primary schools in Cambridge. Gavin enjoys woodwork, long walks and music.
