Dr Debashis Puhan

Debashis is a supervisor for Engineering Tripos IA and IB courses, including Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, Structures, and Thermofluids.  He has taught over 100 students at Homerton, Wolfson, and Churchill colleges since 2019 and was elected as a Bye-Fellow at Homerton in 2023.

He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London and has served as a senior postdoctoral researcher at the Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry.  He currently serves as the secretary of the Tribology Group at the Institute of Physics (MInstP) and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).

His research interests encompass Tribology of polymer composites, Lubricant additives and lubrication, Surface science and engineering, Condition Monitoring, as well as Bio/Oral-Tribology.
