On July 1 we celebrated the General Admission Graduation of our 2023 students.

Principal Lord Woolley commented:

"I’m still on a high from Saturday's very special day. The culmination of 3/4/5 years of study for nearly 200 Homerton students. I have no doubt that these young men and women will do extraordinary things in the world, not just for themselves but also, and more importantly, for wider society."

We talked to some of the students about their experiences at Homerton College:

Reyhannisa Haji graduated in Natural Sciences.

"I actually got pooled to Homerton and I’m so glad I did! The College has an incredibly friendly atmosphere that I think is unmatched anywhere else. I’ve met so many incredible people and I’ve never felt so accepted so quickly."

"Next year I will be going on to do History and Philosophy of Science as an integrated masters. My undergraduate degree was in Natural Sciences so it will be an interesting challenge going from a science to a humanities, but I’m looking forward to it."

Whilst at Homerton, Reyhannisa took part in the Changemakers Programme and she is now an Ambassador for the scheme.

"Science is always changing at there is always something new. I'm interested in genetically modified (GM) crops and how they can positively contribute to food security and the environment. I aim to be involved in policy making around GM crops to ensure that their full potential in making the world a better place is achieved properly. Homerton Changemakers is a great way to be introduced to the necessary skills needed to achieve my goal. As an ambassador, I hope to help others achieve their goals too."

"The best piece of advice I have been given is to do what you enjoy and follow your passions because it makes life so much easier and so much more pleasant."

"I have so many memories of many different parts of Homerton. If I had to choose it would probably be the orchard because I’ve had many meaningful walks with friends around the orchard."
