In studying architecture, it’s important to be inspired, and inspiration can come from anywhere in the design and technological world. I would encourage any budding student to start this process by finding and following social media accounts that pique your interest. These accounts can cover any range of content, but it is helpful if they are at least in some abstract manner “architectural”- such as interior design, sculpture, virtual design etc. Regular interaction with these accounts result in a steady stream of start points to be inspired by. Visual forms of social media such as Pinterest and Instagram are designed to give a “snapshot” of content, so I find these sites more useful for everyday inspiration. When you come across something particularly interesting or inspiring, you can research further via links/accounts featured in posts, or other searchable phrases in the caption/text. If social media is not something you use regularly, you can have similar inspirational starting points from regular check-up of the websites mentioned above- for example, Arch Daily.
