About Grace

Grace Hernandez has 10 years experience of working within mental health services amongst various roles spanning from acute hospitals to the charity sector. 

She is a qualified Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor who is registered with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). Her credentials are: MSc Therapeutic Counselling, BSc Psychology, Level 3 Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, PTSD Management Course Diploma with specialist training in; Suicide Mitigation, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, Domestic Abuse Champion, Trauma Training, Trauma Informed Approach, Conflict Resolution, Difficult Conversations and Mental Health Awareness.

Grace has an open door, if she is in her office then you are more than welcome to walk in and have a chat. She is one of your first points of contact to explore your options of further support. This may include having a safe space to offload, counselling provision, signposting, complaints, safeguarding concerns, learning some tips around stress management, sleep hygiene, grounding techniques.

The Role

Grace will be active in the promotion and further development of a strong mental health and wellbeing culture throughout the College; taking the lead in developing and implementing strategies, policies and programmes to promote the wellbeing of students and staff.  She will be delivering mental health and wellbeing support to students and staff, providing a key point of contact and coordination, maintaining a balance between strategic overview of wellbeing and a programme of direct engagement with students and staff individually.
