The College originated in 1768 on Homerton High Street in London before moving to Cambridge in the early 1900s and gaining official collegiate status in 2010. We are now the largest College in terms of student numbers and maintain a thriving and diverse community - something that has always been part of our DNA.

A great working environment
The Homerton grounds are a hidden gem in Cambridge. Our staff members work in beautiful listed buildings, see exciting new modern developments take shape and have access to 25 acres of gardens, including our very own orchard.
We are located in south Cambridge, only a 15-minute walk away (or a 5-minute pedal) from the historic city centre. Our students tell us the College location makes it feel more like ‘a home’, providing respite from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Unlike many other Cambridge Colleges, the availability of space means we can offer free on-site parking for all staff members. For those who commute from further afield, the train station is also in close proximity.
Meals are provided for all staff members on duty in the Great Hall, where you are encouraged to meet your fellow colleagues for lunch. The Combination Room is a dedicated space for staff and Fellows to have tea and coffee breaks throughout the day. You can also get a subsidised membership to the College gym.
Homerton offers a generous pension scheme. Your pension payment and lump sum on retirement is predetermined by your earnings history, tenure of service and age, rather than depending directly on investment returns. Monthly employer contributions are currently 18.2%.

Cycle to work scheme
We are happy to offer the cycle to work scheme to all our employees. It offers you the chance to buy a bike from a trusted chain or your friendly local independent cycle shop, and save up to a third of the cost.
